I still often question the intelligence of most football players, as in common sense / real life shit - and it always gets me why in the F do these guys throw punches at other guys who are fully helmeted. Even Jon Gruden said Reed is basically an idiot he could very easily have broken his hand

Re: Post game

Let's not forget that the fumble put the ball on the 6 inch line for the Panthers, and the pick put them on our 18 yard line, with both resulting in TDs. Hard to blame the D for those, and absent those plays, the Panthers managed only FGs.

But still, the Panthers ran all over us, and Cam was over 300 yards. Our D was just not good -- bad tackling, missed assignments, and no turnovers. The D was just poor last night, as was our non-existent run game. I kept wondering why Kirk wasn't able to light up their terrible secondary, and then realized that they dropped a safety deep and applied enough pressure throughout the night to keep Cousins from getting deep looks down the field. And with Reed hurt, Davis deciding to have butterfingers, Garcon dinged up, it just didn't come together.

Overall, a pretty dispiriting night.

Probably one of the reasons he couldn't cut it in Cleveland. He is nothing more than an emergency measure for us, seriously hope we get an upgrade next year.

He's never been a cover guy, but man that TD he got spun around on was just ugly. I still can't figure out what he was trying to do there.

But we have an upgrade right now! Ihenacho and Blackmon! And move Cravens to SS for coverage's sake! Anybody would be an upgrade over Whitner the way he's playing!

Cooley and Kevin were crazy about him still being on the field. They said we don't owe him anything, and they didn't care if he was a great locker room guy, at some point if he can't run, get him out of the field.

They got a solid point imo saying if the veteran is doing rookie mistakes, you might as well have a rookie in there (Cravens).

Yes! Forgot about him, while I liked what we saw of him. One more reason not to play Whitner!

I wonder who decides the secondary starters. Is it Jay, Joe Barry or does it fall to Perry Fewell?

I've been watching Whiffner lately and man, I am not sure what the coaches are seeing.

I loved that quote..."if he's going to make rookie mistakes, you might as well have a rookie playing". At least with a rookie, there's some potential upside.

I'm wondering the same thing... I'm guessing it's talk between the 3, but does anyone know for sure? I'd say the HC has the last word on these matters but not sure.

Really losing to a losing team like Carolina and at home. When the spotlight was on them. Really no excuse either way.
