Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Quote:
How long are you willing to wait to be a Super Bowl contender? Seriously, how long are you willing to wait? In your opinion, are we dealing with a window of opportunity here before we lose players like Williams, Norman, and Kerrigan or not? Are you aware that Kirk Cousins already holds numerous Redskins franchise records even though he has only been the starter for two seasons? Don't you think he can continue to improve? In truth, the Redskins made the decision to pay more money for Kirk than they needed to by delaying their decision sign him to a long-term contract last season. They could have had a good deal for the next few seasons but they wanted more proof. NFL QB salaries go up significantly each and every season, so now they'll have to pay more if they still want him. I think the Redskins need Kirk. I also think they know it but still, somehow, they think they're in the driver's seat in the negotiations with Kirk and his agent. Up to now, Kirk and his agent have been nice. I'll tell you how Kirk can get the long term deal he wants from some team. He just simply needs to inform the Redskins that if he cannot come to an agreement with them on a long term deal, then he will not sign a Franchise Tag agreement with them and he will instead sit out the 2017 season. Then we'll all find out Kirk's real NFL value.
