Maybe it's because we want to drive up Cousins' value by making it at least seem on the surface like we are interested in resigning him. I feel like if they just come out and say "we're going to let Cousins enter free agency", then there is no reward to us letting him go. They could be working out something where they get some picks for him as well, we already have the one article speculating that the Redskins believe Cousins is worth two first round picks...

Joe Barry Ass't HC & LB coach. I'm sure Wade will school him up.

WOW; that's intriguing. He gets fired and McVay not only hires him but gives him a promotion. I would love to be a fly on the wall.

Assistant HC is just a fancy empty title. He's their linebackers coach. Not a promotion.

McVay knows him more than we do so he must like something about the guy.

Watched him a few times on TV. He is not all that. Same way I felt about Teebow. I just didn't get the hype.

I would give Jay 2 more seasons and if he can't get over the hump let him go. He needs to hire the new DC quick.

Guys are dropping off our radar quick because they are being hired by other teams. Wonder if we don't end up finding someone already on our team to appoint to DC...

Ashburn is frozen by fear. If the Redskins want to get someone, monetarily they can get them. I like how Sean is making his staff with no hesitation. You don't need to interview people like Wade Phillips. You know what they can do.

I don't get it, why not Wade Phillips as assistant head coach he is the DC and he has the experience?

I think Wade is content being a damn good DC. Doesn't need or want added titles.

I disagree, I think they have a plan and know what they are doing. Just because there aren't leaks to the media, doesn't mean they are working on filling the positions. I know this is different from years past.

DCs are limited and elevated by their players. Wade is not as great as fans would like to think. Denver's great defensive performances should be credited more to Von Miller.
