Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Can't believe I'm even asking this but would you rather have Cutler or Romo? Excuse me now while I go and vomit.

I won't even comment on Jay Cutler because I think everybody knows he's trash. I would go with Alex Smith, because while he's a game manager at best, you can get into the playoffs with Smith, you can even win a playoff game with Smith. He's a solid stop gap and probably wouldn't cost much to pick up. Plus, he's a Scot McCloughan pick, so if the Chiefs decided to move on from Alex Smith, it would make way too much sense if the Redskins moved on from Kirk Cousins.

Cutler. I've hated Romo so much for so many years, I couldn't bring myself to like him ever.

Romo. We tried zero leadership with Jeff George.
Besides, I just think how hard I would laugh if Romo won SB w/ skins before Jerry did w/ Dak. Unlikley, I know but worth thinking about.....LOL |

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Romo for sure. Cutler is a non-starter because of attitude.
I still think Cousins signs long term. I'm not buying Daniel Jeremiah as a source. I'll wait for the plugged in guys to hear a whisper.

Mike Rob said he's heard the problem is the same he's heard since mid season about Cousins and it comes down to is Cousins a 23-25 million per year player?...he said look at the win-loss record as starter...that matters more than the numbers. Also remember how they finished the season, good QB get the win to get in (the playoffs).

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
I hope they sign Cousins however if they don't and we don't get a huge haul from a trade then I am done with this team. at least 2 first round picks and maybe more. who ever makes the trade is looking at Cousins as the franchise QB and they don't come cheap..one reason I believe the Skins do not want to sign Cousins to Huge long term deal is simple. They do not believe the team as a whole even with Cousins is a deep playoff team. my problem with that is who the heck else is out there who can get us 9 wins on the cheap?? if i thought Colt Mccoy could win us 9 games and we could use all the number one draft picks from trade and not whiff on any of them and get three top pro bowl starters out of it then it might make sense ..BUT that is a lot of IFS..

I agree. We need to sign him and than use all other resources (or 90% of them ) on defense. How anyone could have watched this team for the last two years and not come to that obvious and simple conclusion is beyond me. If he walks I am not only done with this team but I guess the NFL because I could never root for anyone else. SAD! lol |

I'd rather pick up Tyrod Taylor and draft Trubisky with that second pick.

On the underlined, that's actually a valid point, because the defense actually played well against the Giants and Kirk was a major part of the problem with the offense.

Cousins' stats are all top 5 in the NFL, but I'd put him maybe 12th in the league on the QB hierarchy list. Why? That's where the thinking comes in: - Great stats with yardage, but isn't he racking up yardage because he needs to? If the defense isn't giving up 27 points a game, then Gruden and McVay aren't chucking it all over the yard all 60 minutes. All this is to say Russell Wilson could throw for 5000 yards too, if he had to. He doesn't, he has the legion of boom. - Poor red zone performance. We rank quite low in red zone efficiency. - But pluses, Kirk has one of the highest completion rates in NFL history, and a strong YPA. So he's quite efficient and accurate enough to direct a successful offense. - Avoids sacks pretty well, more mobile than he gets credit for, and releases the ball quickly. - Prone to a brain fart bad decision a bit more often than QBs in the top 5 or top 10. Add it all up and yeah, I think he's 12th or so in the league. But the opportunity is there to get better, and I don't understand pinching pennies at the QB position. Pinch pennies elsewhere, pay the QB.
