Is SmootSmack the person still alive? If so, why did he retire from The Path?

Probably because he got tired of listening to complete nonsense like the kind our resident doom-and-gloomer peddles in.

San Fran is not going to trade the #2 pick to us for Cousins, they aren't going to give up a bunch of picks for him when they have a terrible roster.

Doesn't make much sense to me either to give up so much when their cupboard is so bare. Kyle should know well from his time here that you don't need to give up a ton of picks to find a good QB.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins will play in the Pro Bowl as an alternate, a source said. Atlanta's Matt Ryan would have played but will be in the Super Bowl.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread

Will be the only reason why I would watch the Pro Bowl. With Kerrigan, Reed, and Schreff not playing, I think we only had silverback left who would be playing in the Pro Bowl. I have to admit, it's only fun for me to watch when there's a bunch of Redskins playing. Otherwise, total waste of time.

My feelings were right on the Manusky hire, so I think my feelings of Cousins being signed to a big contract as soon as the Super Bowl is over with will be spot on as well. I'm starting to see that there will be continuity (at least this year), and the biggest spot to keep things heading upward is to re-sign Cousins.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread

The dumbest thing of all is putting any credence in the rumors that Shanahan could go hard after Cousins. Like, does anybody really think Kyle Shanahan has had any time to do anything besides watch tape and gameplan for the teams the Falcons have faced in the playoffs? There's no way he's talking to all these NFL insiders and telling them how much he wants Cousins. And San Fran doesn't even have a GM in place, for God's sake. All this is just speculation, that because Kyle had Cousins and liked him here, that he'd like him in San Fran.

But to say that the 49ers would be willing to give up two first round picks is getting the cart waaay out in front of the horse.

When Kyle gets there, he'll assess his roster, and he'll form an opinion. He'll no doubt like the idea of Cousins but there's no telling how much he'd want to give up in a franchise tag steal deal. And all of that will be subject to discussion with the GM, who hasn't even been hired yet. He'll go through his own assessment of the roster.

Is it possible? Sure I guess. But acting like this is a done deal doesn't even make one shred of sense. Snake, you suck at thinking. Please just stop posting.

The most likely course is that the Redskins pay Cousins handsomely in a long term contract.

That seems to be what the news and sports media base things on all the time - speculation. Sure, I can see a scenario where Kyle would want to lure Kirk Cousins, but I don't see it as likely. If anything, I could see Shanahan convincing Kaepernick to stay for a bit longer, and the 49ers use their draft picks to rebuild the team.

The only person who could screw up the idea that Cousins gets paid big money would be Dan Snyder. If it was up to him, he'd still have RGIII starting.

--Examining implications and consequences of a belief or action
--Using reason and evidence to resolve disagreements
--Re-evaluating a point of view in light of new information

I think i'm at the point now where you guys aren't going to have to ask me twice. I've not been like the argumentative posters or the people who have gotten banned. The hate on me here is ridiculous and uncalled for. I have done nothing. I have not trolled the boards or started stupid threads, or attacked other members personally based on things like religion, ethnicity, or handicaps (As has been done to me here).

I have drawn the ire of the boards for posting stuff mainly in the Cousins threads, and defending my belief that we will not re-sign Kirk Cousins. I have also expressed my opinion of Mr. Snyder that no doubt many others share but may not be so bold in posting. I have criticized Gruden's decision to promote from within to fill our openings rather than hire from outside the organization, and it is my belief that this could indeed cost him his job here.

At the end of the day we are supposed to debate these things as FANS, with the exception of people like SmootSmack who are privy to organizational information. The bottom line if you guys were the experts here about the redskins and or the NFL in general, you'd be working for the NFL and not attacking me on a MESSAGE BOARD. Keyboard commandos here for sure
