It really does feel like a 'nowhere to go but up' kind of situation. In the end, talent in the front 7 and at safety is the biggest problem. McCloughan needs to get busy, no matter who the coordinator is.

It's just that I think Pettine could have gotten more out of the resources McCloughan is going to get than Manusky will.

But either way, it's definitely better than still having Barry. And Fewell. The more I read, the more it seems like that guy just blew chunks.

Yeah, when I started seeing reports that the Redskins were interested in Jim Tomsula for the DL position, I kind of figured SM was making his way to have Manusky promoted. I think Tomsula is a pretty solid defensive line coach, and hopefully SM brings in some better talent there. I guess it remains to be seen who the secondary coaches will be and who replaced Manusky coaching the outside linebackers. Maybe Manusky has some guys in mind.
