Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Exactly. And when the alternative is credible outlets like ESPN/NLFN reporting that Allen and McC can't coexist I'm more inclined to believe that. Why is it so hard to believe that Allen would be jealous of McC getting most of the credit for rebuilding this team? Is jealousy not a thing that exists in the NFL world?

Trouble in Redskins Park?
The guy is an alcoholic who by his own admission never stopped drinking. I would find it nearly impossible to believe that he's clean and sober. Not saying it played a significant factor in all of this drama, but talking solely on the issue of whether he's drinking or not, I would find it awfully hard to believe that he's not drinking. Mike Jones just said the other day all he does is watch film AND DRINK. Another WP insider article states that sources say yes he drinks but it's not impacting his work. Dude is drinking. |

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Guys, this is coming from a person who like to read instead of posting and frankly I'm getting tired of all negative assumptions. As much as I am nervous about this whole situation (Cousins, Scot, and our FA players) - I know we have to stop making any kind of assumptions based on rumors. In fact, most of information regarding Cousins & 49ers trade are purely speculation; the reporter who first reported the story admitted that it was his own idea and he had a belief that it would happen. As we have seen from recent presidential election, a rumor has knack of rapidly becoming a fact-like; we need to distinguish rumors from facts..
Only "dysfunctional" areas Redskins are experiencing in this offseason is Cousins and Scot - we messed up big time with Cousins, however it looks that way only because we do not have full information. Redskins front office might have known they will encounter this issue, and they are expecting to sign Cousins to multi-years contract but they simply want to wait it out and see which side will break first, after all we cannot forget that the deadline to sign Cousins to a contract is in July, which is few months away. There are few factors that we do not know nor understand. As for our other FA players, Gruden announced they already have plans if we couldn't resign one of our WRs - this shows the front office and coaches are expecting this kind of loss and have a plan to remedy the loss (of course, the question is will the plan work?). As for Scot part, I think this is only area where we messed up big time based on the article by Washington Post. I really hope we will find a way to keep Scot only because of his scouting talents. That said, we need to take a step back and relax, wait for full information to come out and see what happens. By beginning of season this fall - if we lose Scot, Cousins and we did not find any decent players to replace the players we lost then that is when we all can take out our pitchforks and go to Redskins park. |

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
I think you guys are looking at it wrong.
Bruce hired McC because he knew he didn't have the chops when it came to player evaluation. But notice Doug Williams and Jay Gruden sat in all of the interviews at the combine. I feel like some folks are getting it twisted and assuming that Bruce will run the draft board and the draft room. I don't, I think it will be Gruden. Now, nobody has said that yet. But that's how I read it. So either you don't buy that and you hate Bruce, or you don't have faith in Jay? I don't want Bruce running the draft board, but I don't think he will be. I'm good with Jay doing it. This isn't a calamity.

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
Making it work here was SM's best shot at re-establishing himself. From all appearances that didn't happen. I would prefer he had gotten another 2 years, but let's be honest, his strength was supposed to be defensive magic, and he didn't work it here.
As to the FO set up it sounds to me, that minus the spin, the personnel selection system was a 3 person system, coach-gm-cap/president. It also sounds like Allen's vote counted more on contract issues. I don't think that's a bad system. |

My biggest problem with Bruce: 1. McNabb trade and then dumb contract 2. RG3 trade 3. Over ruling McC last year giving Cousins the extension. these are pivotal management mistakes. I mean, set a franchise BACK mistakes. We all do understand this right?

These have proven to be major mistakes...which could have been adverted if we deferred it. 1 & 2 to the Shannies and 3 to McC. clearly these have cost the Org

That said, if the choice is solely a BA decision that's not a good thing, but I think JGruden and even DWilliams both have pretty good ideas of what qb's could be here instead of KC. |

Re: Trouble in Redskins Park?
We are going to have non-football guys picking players again. Who picked KC, who hates Shanahan. It's just about ego, and not being wrong. I didn't like Shanahan, he was right about Cousins(I was wrong about Cousins). Grow the eff up.
