I completely agree and this is how I see it going.

I think the team is either a) playing this as poorly as possible (Snyder is meddling and doesn't want him) or b) playing this as absolutely perfectly as possible by not budging an inch until July 15 when they will have waited out Kirk's leverage and then come up with a reasonable deal as you suggest.

I still think it's B.
