a friend who is also a redskins fan has been following the situation. when he said 5 years / $125m / $75m guaranteed, i thought that was insane.

but the more i considered it, that's probably what it will take. luck got 6yr/$140m/$87m guaranteed? luck is 3-3 in playoff games and hasn't lead his team there since 2014.

i could live w 5 years, $125m w $75m guaranteed.

The number sounds high but really it's all about percentage of salary cap. With the cap exploding in recent years these are the numbers it takes. QB is the single highest paid position on every team. When bums like Osweiler get big money it fucks it up for the rest of us.

I'm thinking that Joe Flacco's contract is a better frame of reference than Andrew Luck's contract.

I'd like to think they could get a deal done with 5 years, $115M with $48M guaranteed. That would average $23M per year and the guarantee would be 40% of the total contract and twice as much as Kirk is guaranteed on a Franchise Tag deal for 2017.

Meanwhile, McDonald's is replacing workers making $9.50 per hour with robots. Think about that for a minute, Kirk!
