Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
I just had a conversation with Kirk a few minutes ago ( seriously) I'll post pictures in a little while.

good read, if not optimistic:

But I maintain the team will not show its hand until this weekend. I think they'll come with their last best and final this weekend, and it will likely be good enough for Cousins to sign. I think what precious little we're hearing in the media is originating with Cousins's side, basically just saying there haven't been much in the way of negotiations. The lack of information out of Redskins park is leading writers to make assumptions. Each of these articles, Keim's, the WaPo's, they all acknowledge that deadlines spur action. I still say it gets done.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
This better get done!!! I am tired of being let down by the dipshits that run the team. I used to be a rabid fan, but what has gone down in the last 5 seasons has really taken a toll on me in terms of my level of fandom. Stop the merry go round and build a frigging team!!!!! I am tired of being a jaded fan!!! Pay the man!!!

In terms of him signing, absent the media, I wouldn't care nearly as much, but if we don't sign him, having to hear about it all the fucking time, will be the shits. All 16 games, it would be discussed, and all summer too.

I'd really be surprised if a deal got done at this point. This is the strangest contract negotiation in the history of the NFL.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
If it doesn't get done then I gonna have to listen to all the crap in the media about how the Skins effed it up. It gets old but its the Snyder way. I really cant believe we've finally found a proven QB and we aren't satisfied.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
Skins are damned if they do, damned if they don't get in terms of signing KC. Either they are foolish for not signing him at around his asking price OR they are same old Snyder for overpaying for a player salary regardless of salary cap consequences.

Redskins offered Kirk Cousins $24M in guarantees - NFL.com This year it was reported the Skins offered 20 M per and Cousins wants 24. If the Skins made the 20 per offer and just sat on their hands this entire time like they did last year, I will want Allen's head on a pike. At least sit at the table and try to massage the numbers. Offer him 21 and add on a 5th year, then offer 22 at 4 years, etc .... but at least have some dialogue going. This apparent incompetence is just baffling.

Re: Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag
I dont think they are sitting on their hands. I think KCs more positive comments are because the Skins have been ratcheting up their offers and getting closer to his. Thank goodness there are only 5 days left for this dogdoo.
