Re: Draft Grades
Solid B from me.
Allen has Pro Bowl potential written all over him. Anderson brings toughness and attitude. Moreau was a value because of the injury, and some good insurance if Breeland doesn't earn that 2nd contract. Perine could be a real sleeper, I won't be surprised at all if he wins the job in camp. I love guys with his running style. Nicholson seemed like a bit of a head scratcher, but at this point I'm going to defer the guys that do this evaluation stuff for a living. Another pick I liked that could be one to watch is Chase Roullier. |

I also like Roullier a lot. He reminds me of when we drafted Long a few years back. Big, nasty interior guy who plays angry. If he can develop into a LG/C type of player like Long has we should be in good shape after Lauvao leaves.

Nicholson played on a bad shoulder all year at Safey. Guy is an athletic phenom. He should of stayed another year but will be a good player for us and possible starter by year 3. Little tidbit of info. Nicholson was recruited by our DB coach Gray when he coached at VT. Thinks highly of him. Can probably coach him up quick. Give the draft a B+. Would of liked Williams over Anderson but both are great football players. Nice theme is we are starting to get guys who will punch you in the mouth on defense. Anderson Norman Moreau Allen Brown Something we have lacked forever.

The short-term stuff they do is just to keep up people's interest by having a product to sell during the season. An analysis that is quickly and sloppily thrown together to rank players on a game-by-game basis doesn't work. I like the fact that, in their grading, reputation and measurements don't taint he process. It's all about how a player actually performs on the field. Yet, PFF is just one tool to use in evaluating a player. I think it's useful, at least as a cross-check.
