25 million per year - sign him immediately 27.5 million per year - eeeeeekkkkk, could use that extra money to bring in more talent, but still should probably sign him 30 million per year - damn, is he really worth that much? But do we want to start over?

Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
Of course Denver players are drooling over Kirk, they could have made noise this year with any halfway decent starter.
It still amazes me Elway thought they were set with that mess of a QB situation. Wasted year with their talent on D. |

So was it Elway or Manning that really won that ring? I know both did but everyone was saying John is a genius GM... Doesn't look that way right now. Since Peyton they have been bad

Even Manning with half an arm still drew respect from defenses. He looked like a genius back then, now it looks like the SB win enlarged his ego so much he thought he could win with trash at qb.

Bottom line is the Redskins will have to match Matthew Staffords contract or pay Cousins more. If you look at their stats for 2017, they are almost identical.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
If they pay kirk that kind of money we won't have money for free agency. If he isn't willing to take a salary cap friendly deal so they can fix other positions as well, then were going to have a high priced QB and be in the same position next year. I hope we draft a big time three down back who can take it the distance anytime he touches it. With a great RB this will help the defense as well. Tired of watching these guys run for a yard or two each carry.

No , he can’t .Kirk is an average system QB, not worth 27million. Give me a new coaching staff who can make in game adjustments, hold players accountable, and a staff that can develop players and an accurate passer (Alex Smith )next year. Mike Zimmer started at Minn. same year Gruden started. Need I say more Sean McVay need I say more. New coach next year - Steve Wilks |

until the salary cap starts trending lower, 27M to 30M this year isn't going to kill our cap. I am fairly convinced that the Skins have been biding time on some contracts simply to be able to be competitive in negotiations if and when KC ever starts negotiating with them

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
We haven't even discussed Eric Schaffer's wizard-like ability to move money around to create space. Norman could probably use a readjustment for starters. We definitely have room to maneuver and fit Kirk's deal under the cap. People are forgetting his salary cap hit is 24 million for this year.

Reed and Norman have to restructure or one hit the road. Lauvao, Long, Hood, Hall and others will be gone too giving us additional space. Kirk can be fitted.
