How many playoff games did Kirk win?
Kirk is not the answer. Why pay 27 million to a QB who can’t lead his team to victory in the big games? ie Giants last year ie playoff against Green Bay. 4000 yards season. Red Zone efficiency terrible. What wrong with that picture? He is a dink and donk QB . No long ball accuracy. Compare Kirk to Russell Wilson. Compare Kirk to Drew in NO. Compare Kirk to Tom Brady. Compare to Carson Wentz. These are game changing QB’s That is who you pay 27 million.

One last thing.Drew team scored 2 touchdown s in 3 mins. and beat the Redskins. Kirk had the same opportunity. Need I say more.

It’s just funny to hear someone call Cousins a dink and dunk QB while at the same time lobbying for Alex Smith. By the way neither are dink and dunk, both are in the top 6 in yards per attempt.

It is all about wins and loses.

Russell Wilson carried the Seahawks with team injuries , offensive line issues , no running game. Kirk can not carry a team. If you want to continue seeing other teams play in January, bet on Cousins. He is an average QB, in a system that can’t produce in the red zone . You don’t pay an average QB 27+million. You pay a game changing QB 27+ million ie Russell Wilson , Tom Brady , Drew @ NO, Big Ben.
By the way they are in the playoffs.

Wilson is a better QB in fact all are that you mentioned. Kirk is not far behind them

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2017 OFFENSE EFFICIENCY RATINGS

Seattle's run game is better than ours. 21st v 28th.

We have played the 6th toughest defensive schedule while Seattle played the 16th.

We are ranked 11th in passing offense while Seattle is ranked 15th.

Seattle's defense is better than ours:FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2017 DEFENSE EFFICIENCY RATINGS

Kirk has a better DVOA and DYAR while playing much tougher defenses: FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | QUARTERBACKS 2017

The Skins have 20 on IR not counting Cravens: 2017 Washington Redskins Depth Chart | Ourlads.com

Seattle has 17 on IR:
2017 Seattle Seahawks Depth Chart | Ourlads.com

We also beat Seattle in Seattle.

Here is the box score: Redskins vs. Seahawks - Box Score - November 5, 2017 - ESPN

Wilson had a 55% completion percentage against our defense and 2 interceptions while his running game averaged 5.3 yards per carry.

Kirk had a 67% completion rating against their defense, zero interceptions while our running game averaged 2.2 yards per carry.

Despite a lesser run game, lesser defense, and more injuries Kirk is playing better (or at least as good) and is shouldering more of the burden of the offense.

Very interesting article by Andy Benoit about the paradox of Russell Wilson: https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/12/13/ru...darrell-bevell

Wilson has long stretches where he is just awful. Case in point was the first 3 quarters against the Redskins this year. Comparing a process-oriented, read the field QB like Cousins to an improviser like Wilson is difficult. That said, both are the best players on their respective offenses.

I'm ok with kirk on a reasonable deal if not try to have a trade with another team before you you give him a huge deal.

Kirk is far from that, he's always in the top 10 in passing down field in fact he was 1st last yr.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

I don’t understand the concern over Norman. His cap number was $20M this year and goes down to $17M next year. He’s very durable - the games missed this year due to the broken rib were the first time in his career he has missed more than one game at a time.

Everyone can see our problem on defense is inadequate pass rush and lack of speed at MLB outside of Brown. When Allen went down and we faced the better offenses in the middle of the year, we couldn’t get any push up the middle.

Norman belongs on a winning roster. But Mason Foster must be upgraded so we can cover TEs using either MLB, and we must get a speedy edge rusher and one more disruptive interior DL like Allen.

Exactly, look at Dallas secondary, it looks good because of the great rushers they have.. Norman is fine, he's in his prime

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

Reed on the other hand has a cap number of $10.5M and needs to be healthy to be worth that cap space. I would agree that the team should talk with him about converting some of his salary to an incentive that will pay out based on number of games played.

Realistically I doubt that works out for the Skins though. He’s so valuable when healthy, I don’t think the team would have the cahones to cut him if he called their bluff. And I think his agent would know it.

I would take Smith too but u have to have a RB for him to be that effective, Kirk doesn't need a RB to ball out
