Yeah but the HC should get a good feel on if his QB will return or not... Or even be wanted back

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
The 2018 Salary cap is expected to be at 178,000,000
That is 178 million. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/12/13/sa...se-2018-season So you are saying you cannot field a competitive team by paying your QB 25 million and have 153,000,000 for the rest of the roster? really? I guess if you have some of the high priced turds we have ...... |

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I think with his shaky play down the stretch of the last two seasons combined with the trade and play of Garoppolo, emergence of Goff, and Keenum, plus this year's QB class, drop Kirk's value. Mid last year he probably could have got close to $30 mil a year from someone, I think that number is now dropped to around $25 mil, we will see.

Even though Cousins (for good reason) does not like Allen, he could interpret a fair long term contract offer (signing bonus) as a sign of good faith that gives him the long term financial security he wants. Then he probably would drop his price to average $25M. Front load some guaranteed money, let it average out over the term of the contract. However as long as Allen and Snyder's egos are in play, this may never happen. For them it is the perception of winning in the public eye they always want. |

Kirk in Denver would be a good fit too but that is all, just these 2 teams make the most sense.. NYJ? He is terrible at that stadium as we all know lol. AZ is on the decline and JAX says they are sticking w Bortles.

It’s definitely a stretch to say paying Kirk means we can’t build a competitive team around him.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I just don't understand why they wait until March. The season is fucking over with. Get a conversation started and get the ball rolling, now. This last minute bullshit is not the way to do a deal at all. It's total dysfunction on so many levels. Since the Redskins have totally mismanaged this they should send his agent a contract and had it ready when the season ended. That way everyone knows they're serious. If he rejects it then move on and be done with one another. Try and trade him so you get some value for your QB. Why continue to drag this mess out until the deadline?

Good points made by Bucky Brooks using The Ravens and Joe Flacco’s contract.
