Scot said that for getting the fans excited over what was going to be a subpar off-season due to money constraints. He couldn't get really decent free agents, so the "football guy" spin came about. Thing is with regards to free agents, we are still acquiring scrubs. With
Norman being somewhat exposed for being the victim of super hype, the only really solid free agent pickup has been Vernon Davis. Josh was a good pickup, but not for the $$$$ we gave him. Only worse deal was when Snyder gave all that
$$$$$ to Deion and Reed. At least Bruce Smith did something.
