Yes he does.
Could we be more balanced offensively with Vernon Davis and Nile Paul at TE?
Reed is a top 3 receiving NFL TE, no doubt. But Reid is not very good at blocking. Plus he is very injury prone.
Davis and Paul are good physical blockers and not bad receivers (serviceable).
I am not saying do not play Reid at all, but if Reid plays most of the snaps, are we are going back to being a pass first offense and loose balance? Which in turn makes it easier to defend against us? Do we loose the ability to run that ball consistently?
