Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree on that one. This is an NFC East game. Resting these guys means Gruden is giving up not even half way through the season. It would be a totally different story if the next few games were between the Browns, Chargers, and Dolphins. But this is a very crucial point of the season that will probably determine if the 'skins go to the playoffs or not. Just the sad matter of fact is, this is the regular season and this team shouldn't have the mentality of playing for next season. They need to play their best guys and play each week as if it's one and done.

Re: It's Dallas Week!!! Round 1

Im guessing Trent's injury is some kind of chips/debridement or something along those lines that cant really cause structural damage if you keep playing but causes fluid build up, pain etc ... minor procedure to scope and clean it up, no football for 6 weeks.

I feel like Trent is sacrificing his long term knee health for the short term benefit of helping the team. Im guessing that knee will not be working well 15-20 years from now.

In 2017, I dont think many players make that old school sacrifice. If he had this entering the season, it might have been a better call to clean it up then and keep him out for 4-6 weeks (after they bye) but ready to roll for the season 100% once he gets back.

Buy skins and cowboy colored ponchos at 10 for $13, walk around parking lot and sell them for $5 each = $$$$$

I think Jay will ask Trent to tough it out until Nsekhe can get on the field, and then let Trent sit a game or two.

That would be ideal. Neskhe can more than hold is own at the left tackle position for a game or two. He played well for the 'skins last year in place of Trent.

Spaight looked overmatched last year when he filled in, but this year he has looked much better with the limited playing time he has gotten. Hopefully the game is slowing down for him a bit.

All I can think and hope, is that if this is one of those years where injuries sink the ship a little bit and take you from what could have been 10-6 to 8-8, then at least our backups are getting experience, we'll get a 3rd place schedule next year, and we'll get all of our guys back for next season, setting ourselves up well.

Still miles to go before we sleep on this season so way too early to start looking ahead. But damn if the injuries don't start to wear on you.

You're right our luck has to turn at some point. [knocks on wood that the QB remains healthy]

I just hope that Nsekhe heals up quickly because I keep hearing that Trent is causing permanent damage to his kneecap by playing on it and I'd rather lose him for this year than for him to be less effective all his remaining years.

I would dispute that as fact. I think the report has been that it's aggravating it but not causing permanent damage. There's a very big difference.

But yeah, dude needs to rest. If we managed to get to the playoffs with a hobbled Trent we're surely not getting out of the first round anyway. He needs to rest at least a little.

It won't be fully right until he has the surgery but he should at least be able to get out on screens.

Doctors wouldn’t let him keep going if he was risking the rest of his career.

Idk, I think they can make recommendations but not sure they have the power to keep him off the field if he wants to be there.

Either way, I agree he should take a couple weeks off, just hope Nsekhe is back in a few weeks or so.

Yeah. Sure. Right. Please refer to Griffin, Robert III and the playoff game vs. Seattle.
