Opinions on Albert, Johnston, & Siragusa???

Yeah... I don't mind Moose either. I think Aikman is a bit better than Moose but somehow, I like them both fine as color guys. The guy I absolutely cannot stand is Paul McGuire. And it's not even his stupid little catch phrases... it's that he's always wrong... always. And then they show how wrong he is on instant replay and he laughs. Arggg. I just imagine Theismann up in the booth trying to hold back his anger as McGuire drives knowledgeable football fans away from their broadcast in droves.

You aren't alone - I found some pretty funny commentary out there on the guy. I'm assuming he's never googled himself:

Richard Deitsch at SI.com writes about who he'd like to see in the studios and booths for the upcoming Monday Night Football on ESPN, and Sunday Night Football on NBC. I was with him for a while. And then he dropped this in the last paragraph:

"(Paul McGuire) is an underrated gem, and has been great since his NBC days."He's an underrated gem, and has been great since his NBC days.

I guess richard Deitsch hates insight and intelligent football analysis. I guess Richard Deitsch really likes "What this, folks... WHAM! Boy, that's great stuff." I guess Richard Deitsch likes football observations that any 11-year-old could make. I just can't believe there's a Paul McGuire fan out there. That there is one Paul McGuire fan out there shocks me more than the fact that 50,000,000 people voted for George W. Bush.

The Sports Guy (Bill Simmons) on ESPN's Page 2 has a hate/hate relationship with McGuire as well. He often says that because ESPN signs his checks he can't say what he really thinks, but he still manages to rip him every time his name comes up.

Johnston I don't mind but Siragusa is too damn much to take, Alberts, guess guilt by association with Siragusa. We should get a good broadcast team for the Skins Gints game though, since it has to be the premier NFC game this week. Overall though Fox sucks...even CBS's scrubs are better than 90% of the Fox team. Since we have gone throwback with Gibbs and Parcells why can't we go back to the good ole days of just NBC and CBS, especially CBS with the tight gold blazers...not to mention how the broadcast companies had biggers stones back then since Jimmy 'The Greek' was basically talking all about the point spread...wonder why....
