Scheme was a problem for him in New Orleans.

I don't know about that...there was def a log jam at that position. Ingram and Kumara...we don't have that type of talent here.

Ingram has really turned into a monster...but has that shaky injury history. AP was insurance for him imo.

I don't know...hindsight is 20/20 but AP woulda done well here. He may have extended his career in AZ.

Every week someone goes down and is out for the year. This week it's Compton and Kelley.

Let me ask a question to the more educated posters here:

When / If it is determined that the Redskins are mathematically eliminated from the playoff chase, do you bench Kirk Cousins to keep him healthy?

I just think given the uncertainty of his 2018 season, do we risk injuring him in a lost season? I think if he got hurt bad this year, it would not only affect our ability to trade him for value / high picks, but also affect his value as a player, as i don't think a team would want to break the bank to sign him depending on what kind of injury he would be coming back from.

Seeing the talk of the giants benching Eli to protect him just got me thinking....

No. We still need to play the game and like Matty said you play to win the game. If he gets hurt then if anything it means we can sign him cheaper and in a Machiavellian sort of way so it would almost be to our advantage for him to get hurt not that you injury on any player ever.

Trade?
That’s not how this off-season is going to go.

My feeling was that we would put the transition tag on him.

Kirk won't sit even if we didn't win another game. He's not the problem at all. In fact he's had a good year once again.

U think any other QB not named Brady or rodgers could make us better? Kirk isn't elite but the guy has had no help at all at WR this yr

i agree, he isnt elite, but i have plenty of concerns with some of the picks he throws and his decisions, his mobility in the pocket, his field vision, his pre snap recognition and ability to audible (whether thats on him or jay), his deep ball, his overall accuracy ... kirk is a mid tier qb imo and i am slowly falling off the bandwagon.... while i do agree he hasnt had much help at all this year from the line at times and from the WRs as well... every game i continue to lose faith and i know.... that he is not worth the money projected and it seems he wants, i cant see paying him like a stafford, when the fact is hes just not as good.... so its less that i think he IS the problem, but i cant agree that he ISNT part of or A problem on his own.

Every fanbase has a problem with almost every pick a qb throws. You think Rodgers or Brady don't make a boneheaded play from time to time? You might be able to convince me Brady never makes a single mistake on 99% of plays, but he's also the GOAT. Cousins is never gonna be in GOAT territory, but he's definitely in the "take us deep in the playoffs with a good team around him" territory. Hard to find those guys nowadays.
