i'm not trying to sound superior, I was honestly curious because you said he got a history lesson, so when I read the article from your link, I was looking at it from the perspective of him receiving one. That is how you framed the link.
But as I read the article I got turned around until I felt like asking an honest question about your comment. I used the quotes so you could see why I was asking what I was.

I don't have a beef, but as Schneed would say, this is a place for "the knowledgeable fan", and when you say he got a history lesson, I read the article looking for that.

Devin Nunes, the congressman who authored a disputed memo alleging improper surveillance of Trump associates by the FBI and the Department of Justice, admitted he didn't view the underlying intelligence on which he based the memo.
Nunes made that assertion during an interview on Fox News Friday, hours after the memo was released to the public.

Agreed, Gorsuch schooled Ginsburg.

Gorsuch: "The court dismisses this 'history lesson' on the ground that it doesn’t know if Congress had 'the ancient common-law … in mind.' But respect for Congress’s competency means we presume it knows the substance of the state laws it expressly incorporates into its statutes and the common law against which it operates.”

Of course Gorsuch was in the minority in this decision, this is still the Scotus that reinterpreted words like "tax" to uphold the Obamacare mandate. But at least to some justices, words and principles still mean things.
