Good luck to Kirk I wont care who he plays for TBH, he's not a redskin so I'm over it now. On to Alex and the O/S for me.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I really hope the NFL collectively decides the QB situation as far as pay is becoming as untenable as rookie salaries were and says enough and Cousins and his agent are the first ones to get the memo.
I always got the feeling the last couple of years Cousins was playing for stats not wins. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk |

Latest Rumor out of Denver is they will pursue AJ Mccarron if he becomes available
https://247sports.com/nfl/denver-bro...-UFA-115112949 Also PFT reported they will keep both Sanders and Thomas if possible. So that tells me they will most likely draft Baker at 5 who they have spent a ton of time with this O/S already.

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
I gotta think given the draft and amount of qbs on the market Cousins and his agent probably are praying tag and trade to the Jets as they may be the only team to pay him.

So Cousins is going to file a grievance if he is tagged again. He and his agent claim the point of franchise tag is to workout a long term deal.

Report: Kirk Cousins will file grievance if Redskins attempt to tag him | Yardbarker.com While the Skins would be stupid to tag him, this report still adds to my perception that teams would look at signing KC as bringing in nothing but headaches. You want a qb that is going to work with your FO, KC hasn't seemed like that at any point in his career. That said, it only becomes an issue if a team is working with KC's agent and starts to get a feeling he is not being a straight shooter with them. If KC and Denver for example are in contract negotiations, and everything is smooth, then Denver will write off all KC's negotiation faux pas as a Washington thing. BUT if they are negotiating and KC's agent suddenly says that another team wants him more and they need more time or money, I think Denver says he's not worth the headache. |

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
Read an article the morning after it was said he may be tagged again. Writer claimed the NFLPA would file as well stating that the 'objective of the franchise tag is to provide teams the ability to retain players'. And that the deal for Alex Smith clearly indicates that retaining KC was not the objective. Read like a PC way of accusing them a 'tag abuse'.

He wanted to do what he thought would get him the most money and I think it even showed on the field. Playing for stats instead of wins. So the Skins should treat him like nothing more than a commodity. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk |

Re: The FINAL Kirk Cousins Saga thread. 5.0
Chris Thompson for one.
I think everybody got some mixed messages, I will say that," Thompson, one of the first*Redskins*players to comment publicly after the trade, said,*via the Washington Post. "I know for me, talking to Kirk, being with Kirk, all we talked about was, you know, 'C.T., with you staying healthy, we can do this with you, we can do that with you,' and we were able to do a lot of the things that Kirk wanted to do with me. We wanted to continue this, so for me, I expected him to be here. *knew it would be hard given that we want to win, but if you pay a guy [$30 million] a year, it's going to sacrifice some other things as well, as far as helping our defense out, maybe getting some more receivers, or running backs and all those type of things. It's kind of hard to say. I think everybody got a different feel about it, but I know Kirk enjoyed being with me and I enjoyed being with him, so I wanted him to be here and I think part of him wanted to be here, but at the end of the day, you gotta do whatever you think is best for you and your family." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...mixed-messages Basically Cousins could say I want to play with you guys but he was willing to sacrifice the over all good of the team to get paid. One guy on the team demanding so much money will impact every other guy on the team Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk |
