I think I’ll just read your posts for the next couple days. Nearly everyone else is irrational. Emotionally on tilt. Save me from the crazies I can’t take it.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Last thing I’m going to say Smith couldn’t do it in SF or KC (I like Alex and saw plenty of him in SF) Cousins is the better QB, I understand we needed a replacement, management got fleeced and way overpaid for him, especially at
Young age of 33. We better draft a young QB to groom, we are going to need it. I’m out.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Yet KC had more 4 quarter come backs over the last three years (7 to 5). looking exclusively at the 4th quarter is ignoring the other three quarters. They are pretty comparable over the last 5 years except Alex Smith has a better interception% and is a better runner. I wonder if Gruden is going to try to make AS fit his system or cater to his strength. Listened to an interesting interview with Andy Benoit (from MMQB) on Grant and Danny and he voiced that as a potential problem.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
So I have had 24 hours to let this marinate and I have gone through a range of emotions, first I was shocked, not that we got a new QB, because I think deep down we all knew Cousins didn't want to be here and wasn't coming back, I was more shocked because I didn't think Alex Smith was on our radar.
Then, I went to fear when I heard the initial reports were players and picks. I was relieved that it was just a 3rd round pick because as angry as people want to be, Smith's production is worth a 3rd round pick, there is no disputing that. Even at 33 years old. I got angry when I found out it was Kendall Fuller who was involved because he was far and away our best defensive player to me from what I saw but at the end of the day he isn't Jalen Ramsey, or Xavier Rhodes, or even Josh Norman yet. (Could he get there? possibly but QB>>>>CB any day of the week.) So once I woke up I started looking at it more and more, Alex Smith has gotten better and better every year, doesn't turn the ball over and one thing no one is mentioning, he beat both teams who are in the Super Bowl this year. Before I can fully judge this, I want to see the team that is built around Smith, we do need a RB, need more from Doctson, and Reed does need to stay healthy but until I see the season unfold can't really say anything definitive. All I know is that at WORST case scenario Cousins vs. Smith is a wash, but difference is we will be able to get more pieces with Smith vs. Cousins at 30 million or whatever the hell he gets and doesn't want to be here. Just remember before all of you jump off a cliff, Cousins DID NOT want to be here anymore. You can say we fucked it up, you can say we should have accepted his offer 3 years ago, the point is it is over and we can't go back.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Cousins couldn't beat the Cowboys or Giants. Paying 28 million or whatever, to a qb who can't beat teams in your division is a very risky gamble and we avoided it.
Alex, beat the damn Cowboys. Way more excited about free agency and draft now.
