Your plan would have the Skins clutching at straws to get a 2nd round pick while risking serious Cap and Draft penalties if KC filed a grievance and won.
WHY RISK IT.

And you trade him if he signs.

You only offer it if you have a trade ready.

Your long term deal is for the same money AS is getting just structured differently.
