Absolutely. Back a year or so ago, there was a report that he went to the Redskins brass and asked for a trade. I kind of wished we would've done so back then, but probably wouldn't have gotten Alex Smith, and I think the 'skins did a good thing by picking up Smith. Either way, the Cousins chapter is finally over in Washington, and now we can move on, officially.

I'm happy for Kirk... and most importantly as a fan happy my team didn't pay him this.
Yes they coulda-shoulda signed him back in 2015. But in 2018 I'm OK with the way things are settling.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

Also, what a ridiculous amount of money to pay a slightly above average (and that's a maybe) quarterback.

Let's see what happens. Minnesota has a great defense, something KC never had here. KC might fall on his $84M dollar face or he might do well. We will see.
The BIG pressure is definitely on him now. He has a lot to live up to.

I say we LOCK this bad boy up for good and move on to Alex Smith who will lead us to many great days.

Joe Theesmann just went on the radio and said "it would have been a big nut to swallow."

I know you guys are ready to stop talking about KC and wait for 31 qb's to outperform him in 2018, but I for one am excited to peruse his post-signing press conference to see if there's any hidden barbs about the Redskins in it. IE "I'm glad to be in a place that wants me" or etc.

THIS is how you say goodbye to a team. Huge difference between Alex and Kirk. Kirk's goodbye was full of shit with the "oh the team didn't want me" crap. I'm glad Alex Smith is here. Fuck you Kirk. We upgraded!

Here's Kirk's goodbye:

https://kirkcousins.org/blogs/blog/t..._medium=social

"There is no way I would be where I am today without the leadership of the Redskins organization … Coach Gruden, Bruce Allen, Dan Snyder. Thank you all for the opportunity you gave me. When Cooper someday asks: “Hey Dad, what was it like playing for the Redskins?” I’ll proudly tell him it was a dream come true.

Thanks for having me, Washington, and thanks for making me into the player I am today!"

But what a D-Bag Cousins is, and what a great guy Alex Smith is, right?

You forgot to include this detail. Right from the get go.

As I’m about to make one of the bigger decisions of my life, I’ll be saying goodbye to my familiar life as a Redskin. After calling Washington home for the past six years, the team has decided to move on to another option and, in turn, my family and I will be moving on as well.
He's a bit disingenuous with that statement. Our team had no other choice but to move on because he had no fucking intention of signing a long term deal with us. THAT is the big difference in the two "good byes". Yeah, he is a douche bag.

He wanted the guaranteed contract all along, so in some ways yes he was all about the $ but he did join a good team so he wants to win too.
