They align in 3-4 and 4-2-5 (nickel) quite a lot, but never in 4-3, we never have 3 linebackers in the backfield (unless you count Harvey-Clemons as a LB, but he's a hybrid nickel player IMO). That makes quite a difference against the run.

Now, you do have point saying Payne can be a nose in a 3-4. But I'd like to see what Ryan Anderson can do as a Sam or Will LB.

One thing I do know is Anderson is not a OLB in a 3-4. They're wasting their time playing him there.
