You don't care if Warren (who is white) claims to have a Native American heritage because white people are entirely responsible for people making such claims. Shouldn't you, by that logic, be extremely ticked off, that a prominent white politician used that claim to knowingly and falsely take advantage of that identification for self advancement? This topic really should be in the hypocrisy thread. Last edited by CRedskinsRule; 10-17-2018 at 02:23 PM. |

Re: Winning
You are right this should be in the hypocrisy thread. What I mean is that we are so hell bent on forcing identification of race and ethnicity that we should not be surprised when people use it as such. I cannot justify being ticked off when we are the ones that continue to support and reelect said politicians. Until we stop we are going to reap what we sow. Personally I am more upset that the dubious genetic test is being used as evidence, our scientific understanding is atrocious and an embarrassment.

Re: Winning
According to RCP polling averages if the election were counted today, the Republicans actually gain 2 senate seats
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep..._toss_ups.html The house is going to be a quagmire of nothingness. Many on here won't believe this, but I'm kind of hoping the house goes democratic. And my rationale is history. I think Reagan made alot of good compromises when he had to deal with Tip O'Neal. I didn't necessarily like all of them, but the split government works better for Republicans if they have the Senate and Presidency. I would even say when Clinton lost the House, it made his presidency better too. With the whole house up every 2 years, I think it makes negotiations more accomplishable then in the senate where only 1/3 changes at a time. Maybe a Democratic house and Republican senate could work together with Trump, and actually make headway on healthcare, immigration, and the country's debt issue. The country has to find a way to move forward in some unity. Doesn't it? |

Wages and salaries jump by 3.1%, highest level in a decade Wage increases have been the missing link in the economy since the recovery began in mid-2008. |

Re: Winning
What an amazing idea, paying people more helps the economy. Wonder where we’ve heard that before.

We've had several quarters of positive GDP growth, lower unemployment, and those pressures, not government interference are what lead to wage growth. |

Just like wages alone don't raise an economy, but low wages have been a problem for a long time. When giant corporations pay garbage wages that force people to stay on assistance programs it's a lose/lose for everyone. Nothing wrong with pressuring companies to pay their employees a livable wage. |

Fuck This Guy
Where's the outrage from "normal citizens"? If you don't want to be called a racist then you should probably speak up at some point. |

I won't say I know much on the topic, but I do know that Trump loves to push liberals to hypocritical positions, especially on immigration. It's why dems are pretty silent over the issue, because they all supported most of the positions - until Trump was the one suggesting it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthr...ht_citizenship Quote:

The left was also for building a wall and protecting our boarder. You pick any top Democrat and I can find a clip of them wanting tougher immigration laws. |

Why not stand up to your own party instead of just going along with this bigotry? Maybe this is more appropriate for the Enough... thread. |
