Derek Carr for Alex Smith

[sandtrapjack]

I'm not even welcome around here and I have to ask why this thread was even started. Even still, has 2 pages to it.

6 games in and already kicking AS to the curb? Who is going to trade for his 4 year contract that the ink is still wet on?

Carr signed a 5 year deal last summer worth over 125 million.

When you trade for a player, you assume his current contract. No one works a new deal when they are less than one year into a new 5 year deal.

You trade away AS you trade away his 2019 cap number which is $20.4 mill
You get Carr you assume his cap hit in 2019 of 25M.

Out of the frying pan and into the 'cap fire'.
