Time to clean house 1.0.

I highly doubt Snyder is involved in 90% of personnel decisions.... only if a significant contract is involved. You seem to think that Williams wouldn’t do move this terrible - but he called it “small potatoes.” Williams is the one who said those words. If anything, this indicates that Williams was the driving force behind the acquisition - or if it was him and Allen, Williams was in support of it. You don’t call abusing women “small potatoes” if you were strongly opposed to the move. Williams May have been a great quarterback, but I’m honestly not impressed with him as the face / voice of the personnel department. In my opinion, neither he or Allen are qualified for their current jobs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

"4. Pay or Go? Preston Smith and Jamison Crowder headline the Redskins players that face free agency this offseason. Neither had stellar campaigns in 2018, but both have shown plenty of potential throughout four seasons in Washington." The part I bolded is something that must come to an end at Redskins Park, among the media that follow the Skins, and among us fans. The very idea that a player is still showing "potential" after four years on the roster is rubbish. We desperately need to find a sense of urgency from the top down at Redskins Park. It can never be proven, but I believe that if Jack Kent Cooke still owned this franchise that Bruce Allen and Jay Gruden would be long gone from here. Cooke didn't try to tell the GM or HC how to run the team. Nevertheless, he demanded results from them or they would be fired PDQ. Cooke wanted to fire Joe Gibbs in his first year as HC when the team lost its first five games while trying to run the "Air Coryell" system with which Joe was familiar. Bobby Beathard had to fight to keep Joe Gibbs. But Gibbs had to win to stay and, he realized, that he had to change to win. So, five games in as HC, Gibbs looked at his personnel to see how he might turn things around. That is when "The Hogs" were born and John Riggins, "The Diesel", and his power running became the new focus of the offense. Then the team went 8-3 the rest of the way. OK? Now, when has Jay Gruden ever changed one fucking thing about his sacred system? Never! Worse than that, he took on the play-calling duties himself, something at which he is entirely predictable, unimaginative, and at which he failed miserably, IMO. He was brought in to win enough to go to the playoffs and compete for championships. He hasn't done that. Why, then should he stay as HC? He shouldn't. He should't. And neither should Bruce Allen. I think that Dan Snyder has become complacent. Perhaps he's a kinder, gentler version of his old self. Here how I imagine the "new" Dan Snyder's conversations with Jay And Bruce. Dan: "What's that you guys are telling me? You had a lot of injuries? That's true. I don't know how you poor victims can even field a team, much less win games with such bad luck. You say you haven't been able to find a decent Left Guard for five years? My, they must be very hard to find. Well, keep trying, guys. You say you want to re-sign Preston Smith and Jamison Crowder? Well, if they have the kind of potential you say they do, then I encourage you to re-signed. Here's how I imagine such a meeting would go with the "old" Dan Snyder: Dan: "Hey, fuck you two with all your whining and excuse-making! I hired you to build a winning football organization. You both failed. So, you're both fired!" I think I liked the "old" Dan Snyder better. |

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
I believe that somebody who is very good would take the position.
If a qualified GM candidate: 1. Likes money 2. Wants to have one of the three dozen best jobs in sports 3. Writes himself a good contract 4. Insists that Bruce Allen (the master underminer of all his perceived rivals) no longer be in the organization in any capacity 5. Most importantly, is a strong personality who believes in himself and will not be swayed by anyone to make poor football decisions, then it doesn't have to be an unattractive position. |
