Re: Alex Smith released from hospital
Yeah I don't see Smith playing again. That Doctor Quote pretty much sums it up. I would imagine he will retire.

Re: Alex Smith released from hospital
But I thought he would be back in 6 months?

Re: Alex Smith released from hospital
That is the kind of stuff that infuriates me with Gruden. He didn't even know the full nature of the injury, really had no idea, and he goes and has the presser and says basically "Yeah, Alex is going to be fine, he's going to be back in 6 months".
Other coaches would say something like "Well I don't want to speculate on the nature of his injury, I haven't gotten to talk to the medical staff yet, but certainly I want to wish him the best and a speedy recovery". But not Gruden.

Re: Alex Smith released from hospital
He said something along the lines of its usually a 6 MO recovery but I don't think he said Alex will be back

Obviously when Gruden said these broken legs are typically 6 months to recover, he was talking about a common uncomplicated version. Not aimed at you, but the inability of some to digest nuance is asinine. Nobody can get pissed at Gruden over this.
