Re: Josh Rosen Trade Rumors: Redskins Have 'Openly' Discussed QB If Made Available

According to Joel Klatt of Fox Sports, three teams are "very interested" in acquiring Josh Rosen from the Cardinals.

Those three teams are the Chargers, Giants and Patriots. It makes sense as Philip Rivers, Tom Brady and Eli Manning are all nearing the finish line and Rosen would be an ideal successor for any of the three. Per Klatt, one team has already offered Arizona a second-round pick for Rosen, though the Cardinals are apparently holding out for a first-rounder. With newly-minted coach Kliff Kingsbury making no effort to hide his infatuation with reigning Heisman-winner Kyler Murray, the Cardinals may not have much leverage in trade discussions. Rosen labored through a difficult rookie season in 2018, though coaching turnover and a weak supporting cast were at least partially to blame for his struggles. The 22-year-old should benefit from a change of scenery.

I bet our 2nd round pick would get it done

If they want our #1 I'm passing on Rosen. I'd do it for our 2 but at 15 we need a Edge rusher or WR Bad

I wonder if Jay has any pull on who his QB is, I mean this guy has not had much help from the fucking F/O. Let Kirk walk, get Alex who really never fit the system Jay loves to run. Now you go out and trade for a career back-up who had a miracle 2017 season that really was just an Avg year for 90% of the QB's. It seems like they really want to set Jay up for failure. Jay said he knows the urgency in finding a QB, and Bruce says "we are ok with Case and Colt"

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in the Redskin front office, to know what is the god honest truth on who said what and what is nothing but BS spin for the media. I don't know if it was the Fan or one of the two ESPN stations I get as I was station hopping driving in the Richmond area yesterday morning, I heard that the coaches plead their case on what players they want and why, then Bruce Allen makes the final decision. In other words Allen doesn't research or vet players, he bases his decision on input of others. So if what I heard was true, Jay isn't getting his QB because Allen is taking someone else's suggestions over Gruden.

It's pure dysfunction. The majority owner can't get the correct structure and the right people in place for the organization. I hope he fires everyone after this year, and gets better leadership in place.

Finlay said on today's podcast that Jay is feeling the pressure and expects him to unload this year about the player selection and acquisition dysfunction in the front office.

The gist was, if Jay is going out, he isn't going to take the blame for all the FO crap.

Finlay gave crowder as an example. He said Jay wanted to spend the money to keep him as a weapon but was over ruled by the FO.

He also mentioned a little heat with Bruce (of course), but also with Doug. Finlay said Doug is viewed as making personnel decisions without having to worry about the consequences of passing up talent.

After reading up on the draft QBs, I don't want any of the top 3 anyways. Jones from Duke would be sufficient, or that guy from wv. The other 3 are just as much a gamble at a much higher cost. I really don't know of any other qb in the entire draft that has starting potential other than these top 5

Pretty sure all that info is coming from Chris Russell so take it for what it is.

True he is saying some of it but so are others including Finlay.

And Gruden himself in the press conference at the end of the year said communication between the coaching staff and personnel dept is THE biggest thing that needs to improve.

So yea Russell is a gossip but there are a lot of other factors and comments from others that make that particular nugget believable

I think Kevin OConnell will get input if there is a QB he likes if it gives him a chance to work with if there is a FO plan to move him to HC when the season is over. There is evidence that could be the plan.

I'd be fine with that move.
