I suppose this explains Redskins' lack of activity for FS players during the off-season? I really hope Nicholson will step up this year.

Per multiple folks, they were hunting for FS prospects in the draft. Apparently there were several they really liked.

But this is great news for Monte...now can he stay healthy, which has been a big issue for him. He's gotta be the starter at this point.

He definitely should be the starter unless somebody comes in and wow's the coaches.

So as of now the secondary looks like it'll be; Nicholson/Collins at Safety. Norman/Dunbar at CB with Fabian at nickel? I like that.

Stroman also got a lot of valuable play time last year and would serve as a quality back-up.

If our Secondary can play UP to their potential CONSISTENTLY we very well may have a formidable defense this year.

I doubt it. The lack of activity by Nicholson on the field leaves me with no confidence in the position. He had 0 interceptions and 1 PD last season..... slightly more than a dead man.

He was terrible last year, and yet he showed he can play in his first year. My best guess is he thought he could get by with his talents alone, so I'm hoping he woke up and recognize the reality.. Also, being with Collins in same room should benefit him. Like Matty said, Nicholson just got a 2nd chance and this year is his chance to prove he belongs to NFL. We can move on from him easily if he bombs this year.

I agree with this post. I think he has the talent to succeed. It's up to him to put in the work to succeed in the NFL. It takes both to make it. I can't be bothered with players who don't get it. If he makes the team, good for him. If not, AMF...adios.
