Yep, this looming CBA basically killed any chance at re-signing Schreff. Also, why Trent's stupid ass is not playing, but he's putting bullshit excuses.

As long as the new CBA still has the franchise tag, Scherff isn't going anywhere. If we can't get something done, we'll have to use it.

And I think both sides are counting on that, but the point is that the new CBA is making things difficult to re-sign Schreff and it likely has little to do with the team or Schreff. So be ready to have Schreff on the tag until the new CBA gets done.

So you think the terrible low ball offer that Bruce made to Schreff's reps has nothing to do with the team? We just saw 2 Guards get extended with 51, 54 million dollar offers in the last month, the CBA didn't stop them. It will cost us more in the long run. Bruce's track record of franchise tag not good.

Were these guards at the level of Schreff? Also, what was the offer and did you hear it from a reliable source? I mean we re-signed Matt I., but as good as I think he is, I don't think he's at Schreff's level.

Also, as long as Schreff wants to play here, we should be good with the tag for him.
