I think you may wanna go check the stats. Cowher was wildly successful his first 4-6 years in Pittsburgh. Cowher was far from mediocre during his first 4-6 years.

You are correct. Cowher's first six seasons from 1992-1997, he won no less than 9 games each season, and won the AFC championship in 1995. Cowher only went 9-7 once during those first six season, in 1993.
