PREDICT GAME 3 AGAINST “Da Bears”

I believe REED is playing his last season with the Redskins. He will either be let go by the team for his chronic injury history OR he retires like Luck.

He’ll be missed because he had such a talent when he could play

My best friend and I talk frequently about how much we hope that Reed retires, as he's had so many concussions, and we don't want to see him disabled by the time he is 40 years old due to brain injury. Supposedly the symptoms he is having now are very significant, there is some who believe that he will not be able to return to the field any time soon, if at all this season.

The short term and long term effects of concussions have proven to be cumulative. A person with a previous history of getting them is far more susceptible to another one than someone who has never suffered one. Also the effects become more severe and the symptoms last longer.

Science hasn't figured out why but all human brains tolerate different levels of abuse before issues arise. A good example is professional boxers, many have had issues with dementia starting in their early 40's while others lived into their 80's with no signs of brain trauma.

I agree considering the concussions and all his other injuries Reed needs to hang up the cleats for his long term health.

I think we can all agree Reed needs to hang 'em up for his long term health. Also, it would look better considering the alternative is we trade or release him if he wants to keep playing. At this stage we can no longer rely on him and there's literally no reason he needs to keep playing. The other thing we don't really mention is how many undocumented concussions he's had.

I also can't help but think players are going to target him for head-to-head shots because they know they can knock him out of the game. I ain't implying that Falcons hit was a cheap shot but the defender had plenty of time to figure out how to hit him and he led with the head.

I was listening to Hoffman yesterday and he was explaining the details of this latest concussion. I really hope he hangs out up now and doesn't come back. It isn't worth it. I can't imagine what his brain looks like.
