Supposedly he is being charged for getting reimbursed for a few thousand dollars in equipment he didn’t need medically. This is so stupid. Presumably Clinton Portis is a millionaire from his time playing in the NFL. Presumably, he makes pretty good money currently.

When you’re doing so well financially, why risk everything to essentially steal chump change?

presuming Portis is well off financially is a reach. Studies show close to 60% of pro athletes are broke a few years after they retire.

It has been well documented that shortly after his retirement, he was essentially financially ruined by having his financial advisors basically clean him out. There was an article about that like two years ago. Today he lives in a small apartment in Ashburn, and he lives far from a lavish life.
