Re: Ron Rivera Thread
+1 on this. Suspect addition if it does happen. I'm sure Wilks and Rivera are good friends but I don't see anything at any of his previous stops to inspire confidence. I'd be ok with this if Rivera is defensive playcaller.

I'm most interested about the overall structure of the organization now. I can't wait to hear how all the pieces fall, if in fact Rivera is going to be the new HC. |

Re: Ron Rivera Thread
I’m dreaming of this starting defensive lineup combo (extra player added)
Sweat, Payne, Ionnadis, Allen, Young, Foster, Holcomb, Bostic, Dunbar, Moreland, Collins, draft pick S.

Ron Rivera Thread
On the GM question, there are only two possibilities: either Ron and Dan already have agreed on the name(s) that would work, as Matty said, or a new structure is being put in place with Smith, Rivera, Schaffer, and Snyder running it all. No way Rivera is coming on board with a question mark at GM.
I fear a little that Dan is promising a level of control to Ron that is unrealistic with an eventual GM and/or that Dan sees himself as the White Knight and wants to be more active in fixing the Redskins.

Re: Ron Rivera Thread
Alex Smith could be the GM all along , making these decisions with Dan behind closed doors

Re: Ron Rivera Thread
I'm glad if it's Rivera,but he doesn't need total control,one of the few things that work for us is that we do have a decent front office so he should just coach,and Danny should just get the f-ck out of the way...CAN YOU DO THAT DANNY???

Snyder has an opportunity to make a seatide change in this organization and its culture. We won't know whether he does it right until the whole scheme is put together and we see the results, BUT, I think Rivera coming in and setting the guiding focus for the organization is a good first step. It isn't walking on the moon, and it isn't staying stuck in the mud either. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

One source said Snyder's input often came through "backdoor ways," funneled through others in charge, such as Allen. It wasn't just about drafting Haskins -- the Redskins knew they had to take a quarterback. It was about making decisions on which free agents to pay and who the team would let leave. "Critical decisions," the source said. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...uce-allen-next Like trading Kendall Fuller and a pick for Alex Smith then resign him to a mega deal even though he was still on contract?

@MikeSilver
Give Daniel Snyder credit for being proactive and lining up this deal with Rivera before other teams could pounce. He got his man. Deal expected to be finalized in 3 pm eastern range, assuming no flight delays. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Ron Rivera Thread
What’s taking so long to make the announcement of the hiring
