If teams want to trade up, I think the Redskins have to set a high threshold for what it would take, otherwise we should draft the generational talent in Chase Young at #2. |

All more than DE/EDGE right now. If they get an offer like that and turn it down I'd be a little surprised , if they do not get an offer then of course I'm pumped for Chase

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
Moving all the way down to 9? Pass! We need to come out of the 1st with Chase or Okudah.
We have 6 other picks, FAs, and UDFAs to fill other holes. Get the elite guy with the 1st pick.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
For months, i've been an advocate of trading down. This was under the assumption that "Tua Mania" would take over as he cleared physicals and wow'ed NFL teams at his pro-day and in private interviews and teams would be in a bidding war for the #2 overall pick to secure his services. This was under the belief that the floor of any such trade would be three first round picks.
That is no longer a realistic possibility. No team is going to trade up to #2 for Tua at this point. Miami might not even be comfortable taking him at 5. We might get offers to trade up to 2 by a team that wants Chase Young, as he's just about the more sure-fire thing in this draft, but teams won't give up enough for a non-QB to make it worth our while to pass on him. Due to corona virus, our path has become crystal clear. We're going to take the best player - the safest player - in the draft and select Young. End of Story.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
Its all about the medical. What team is going to trade UP for a player who just had a major hip surgery? Teams are not going to want to give up multiple picks to acquire a player who recently had that kind of injury unless their own doctors can examine the player first.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
No matter what we do the media will always laugh at us what have we done for the last 20 years we are an easy target. I'm OK with what the media says JMO most of them don't know sh%t anyways and change sides faster than a hooker turning tricks. Take CY unless they give you so many picks you feel embarrassed.

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
I really want Chase Young.
Adding him to Allen, Payne, Sweat, Ioannidis, and Kerrigan gets me hard. But .... having said that ... ... if someone wants to give us two 1st rounders this year, plus a 2nd rounder this year, AND a pick in next year's draft (1st or 2nd)? Well ... you have to think about it. I just don't see anybody even thinking about doing that kind of thing. There's noone in the entire draft being talked about being worthy of all those picks ... except for maybe Chase Young, who is consistently labeled as the best player in the entire draft. |

Re: Chase Young or Three First Round Picks?
One of our OL Graders who was a Bengals coach for 23 years insists they are considering taking Herbert in the draft, apparently they loved his workout and chats with him. That would be CRAZY
