A major problem and failure so far of the administration in fighting vaccine hesitancy is getting full FDA approval of the vaccines.

The previous administration had the vaccine made in 7 months for emergency approval yet we are over 6 months in Biden administration and we are still waiting for full approval?

The full approval would go far

Those are two totally different cases and it doesn’t matter who is President for God’s sake. Not to mention that the man you are putting up on a pedestal is probably responsible for half, if not more, of the new anti vaxx dipshits. At least Biden isn’t denying it exists for 7 months. The delta variant cases are up everywhere, it’s bad everywhere and especially Florida. People who didn’t get vaccinated are paying the price. I don’t know if it will reach cases per day of California…what was that 60k, 80k? Or if the death per capita will be as bad as leader in the clubhouse New Jersey. Let’s hope not, right? Also seeing this drives vaccination numbers up as well, silver linings in a climbing cases.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A day after it recorded the most new daily cases since the start of the pandemic, Florida on Sunday broke a previous record for current hospitalizations set more than a year ago before vaccines were available.

The Sunshine State had 10,207 people hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to data reported to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

The previous record was from July 23, 2020, more than a half-year before vaccinations started becoming widespread, when Florida had 10,170 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Hospital Association.

Florida is now leading the nation in per capita hospitalizations for COVID-19, as hospitals around the state report having to put emergency room visitors in beds in hallways and others document a noticeable drop in the age of patients.

In the past week, Florida has averaged 1,525 adult hospitalizations a day, and 35 daily pediatric hospitalizations. Both are the highest per capita rate in the nation, according to Jason Salemi, an associate professor of epidemiology at the University of South Florida.

Throughout Florida, from Jacksonville to Miami to Tampa, hospitals have become overwhelmed.

Barry Burton, the Pinellas County administrator, told the Tampa Bay Times that some local hospitals are already having to divert ambulances to different locations because of capacity concerns.

There has been a startling rise in the number of children with the virus at hospitals in Miami, many of them requiring intensive care.

"That light did turn out to be a train in this case," Marsha Tittle, a nursing manager at UF Health North, told The Florida Times Union.

I've hesitated to wade into this thread because it's political, which is dumb, because nothing about COVID is political. People just want to make it that way.

Acceptance of the vaccine doesn't break down by party lines. It's the smarts vs the dumbs. Educated zip codes with higher household income tend to have 60% vaccination rates or higher. Areas where a lot of uneducated folks live, lower vaccination rates. North Philly, 35% vaccinated. Arkansas, 35% vaccinated. They vote entirely differently but both are poor and both have low education levels.

My HVAC guy has been busy the past week or 2, so I haven't had my opinion given to me yet about DeSantis/Florida right now.
