TW is getting a reality check that no one is going to pay what he wants and will have to settle for less than what he wants.

Maybe. From what I have heard, it's not been from what the 'skins have been asking in a trade, it's been more about Trent's asking price. In that case, it wouldn't matter if he's a free agent or not, TW's asking price is too high for a player who sat out all season last year and has not played the entire season for a few seasons.
