I am about 40 miles northwest of Richmond. I am in Caroline County, but on the edge of Spotslyvania and Hanover counties. I have ran into guys that have lived for a long time in the Richmond area and don't know where Beaverdam is. The place is famous for General Custer burning down the train station down 3 times during the civil war.
