The part that still does apply is the fines, and that the team is not allowed to waive them. So Trent can hold out as long as he did last year as long as he’s ok losing the money.
Source? It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that this is the first time I'm hearing about this. Game changer if true.

I heard it in sheehans, Keim’s and Finlays podcasts, but i did some googling and found it here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...-trade-demand/

Correction: An earlier version of this article said that a clause in the NFL’s new collective bargaining agreement won’t allow veteran players to get credit for a season if they don’t report to training camp. In fact, this clause only applies to veteran players with three or fewer NFL seasons. Players who have been in the NFL for more than three seasons will face daily $50,000 fines but will not lose credit for their season if they fail to report for training camp

Thanks. Yeah that makes a big difference. Idk what happens but I don't see that being a scenario, I think Trent goes to the highest bidder on draft weekend.

I would be ecstatic if we traded him for a solid pick(s) on draft day. Really, really hope that happens.

HTTR!
