I don't know how true this is, but I was flipping through the channels and saw Deion on some infomercial, and he seems to hint that he was going to try to make a comeback. I can't stand this guy and his attitude...I hope he never has anything to do with football again.
I no longer watch the ESPN pregame show because of Irvin. Can't stand that twitchy little self proclaimed know it all. I only watch the Fox show now. I still don't know why ESPN fired a great analyst in Sharpe for that loser coke sniffer Irvin.

I liked Sharpe a WHOLE LOT better than I like Irvin. But the "skinny" is that Sharpe was extraordinarily difficult to work with and someone who did not get along with the other people on the set and the producers and the technical folks. In other words, he supposedly pissed EVERYBODY off.

So when his contract was up, they lowballed him on an offer (actually I hear they asked him to take a pay cut) and he took a walk. That's how we got to see Michael Irvin on a weekly basis.

Wow, that's the first time I've heard that. That would make sense though. It just seemed like everyone liked Sharpe (ie: berman, Young etc), guess not.
But still why replace a "class act on the screen" in Sharpe for a some dope with a rap sheet longer than Bruce Smith's arm?

Supposedly the biggest problem with Sharpe was that he didn't have good relationships with current players and coaches so ESPN was limited in the interviews they could do. Irvin is ona much more cordial basis with current players so they could use that to their advantage. Sharpe didn't offer that. Sharpe is a great analyst though.

What I'm wondering is what Tom Jackson do during the off-season. I'm surprised to never hear from him. I would think especially during the draft he'd be a good analyst to have around.

I can't say ESPN makes the best personel choices all the time. Take for example the whole Rush Limbaugh catastrophe. I never did figure out how they came up with that idea.

ESPN exec #1: The show is good but it just needs something.

#2: Yeah, it needs someone who knows nothing about football, but is willing to say a bunch of half witted things anyway. Like he knows what he is talking about.

#3: Thats good, somebody who's a creep, a racist, and a drug adict. Someone the players of the NFL can really relate to.

#1: Yeah hes got to have no past exerience or knowledge of the game of football at all, but because of an overinflated ego is willing to make untrue, bold, and slanderous statements.

#2: I think I may know just the guy.

Well the Broncos have signed Byron Chamberlain, which could be in anticipation of Sharpe heading to CBS
