Yeah, the NFL also strikes me as a league short on cash. Some say the XFL was doing even better than the NFL was.

Do they have enough cash to be sidelined for multiple seasons while the virus calms down? Nobody has that kind of cash and you know it.

My guess is two seasons at the most. This year is lost because of the COVID getting out of control, and next year will be lost as the country continues to recover socially and economically, but there is still very high daily case numbers because the vaccine needs time to reach as many people as possible.

So i think it is two seasons without football, but no more than that.
