You are not following my good man. If a very large, overwhelming majority of Native American have no problem with the Redskins name...when asked repeatedly......ask yourself, why are we here? Look around a bit...traffic signals are suddenly racist, Abe Lincoln statues must be torn down...who is telling you this silliness?

No Chico as usual you are not following. Other posters have explained those surveys to you, and have also explained over and over that even if a few are bothered that it is a few too many. This is part of a much bigger issue. This is a branch on the racist tree that has been growing in America for hundreds of years. It bothers the piss out of you that is going to change we get it. So take your ridiculous articles that you think are going to paint all the real issues in the same light and go watch more Fox news.

Yeah the thing is, the small amount of Native tribes that are upset is the issue. The PR is just too negative and honestly not worth the bs anymore because we all know it's never going away. So just change the name and move on, honestly it may bring us some better mojo anyway

Well I understand there are not millions of Native Americans who are marching, but as others have noted the surveys are severely flawed and again this is about racism in general. Not just NA’s. When Malcolm Jenkins went off on Brees I was like good for him, but where is he now about Desean? You cannot pick and choose parts of racism to get up in arms about. It is all or nothing. And I completely agree about the mojo. We have seen so much crazy bad luck over the last 25 years that I think every one of us at some point in a game thread has said change the name we r cursed. Lol
Cannot be a little bit racist. Try telling your wife you cheated a little bit.

Why do you fucking care so much? Are you Native American? If you are not, stop speaking for other people. Native American have been and continue to get the shaft from the government and other people. If a group of Native American organizations are opposing the name, we should listen to them.

I'm sick of people acting like inconveniences are oppressing. Having your favorite team's name is just an inconvenience, is not the end of the world. There are many people going through a lot of true oppression, let's stop overreacting to minor things like a team changing their fucking name.

Jfc...just like white liberal pieces of shit are doing who don’t give a flying fuck about the Skins?

I’ve already said, like MTK above, just change it. I care because it’s not racist...saying it is, is an outright lie. People who are offended should have left the fan base a long time ago.

Oh yes, US...the land of oppression. Please gtfo

The only reason this has ever been an issue is because a small, but loud group of people are speaking for another people.

An inconvenience is an odd way to put it. A loud minority has ignored the evidence, made up their own facts, and basically called us a bunch of bigots. All because our football team has a certain name. They have now hijacked concern over police brutality and utilized it as a weapon to re brand something we all love.

More disturbing has been the march of hypocrisy from sports writers, politicians, corporations, and even self-loathing fans who all woke up one day and declared, "I admit to being a Redskins fan for decades, but now ... If the word REDSKINS is truly so horrid, so racist, so nefarious, then what the hell have these people been doing for multiple decades?

Suffice it to say, if REDSKIN were truly a racial slur, nobody- even the late George Preston Marshall- would ever have used it in the first place. Polite society is just that.

Changing our team's name is a helluva lot more than an inconvenience when the case for doing so is all based on lies and faux concern for Native Americans. What ails Native Americans has nothing to do with Redskins or even Chief Wahoo. It's not going to transform the reservations into Gardens of Eden.

Inconvenience? Please. This is PC run amok- the heir apparent to Joseph McCarthy and Mao's Red Guards.

Hey, there's a good name: the Washington Red Guards.

The Bullets changed their name to the Wizards for lesser reasons and they are fine.

And yes, a name change is just an inconvenience compared to everything else. I'm not crazy about it, but I'm not going to bitch and whine about it, and just move on.

I just want this over and done with and talk about football. I'll be a fan of this team, regardless of their name. Same way I'm still a fan of the Wiz (man I like losing teams).

Thanks for answering my points, not.

The Bullets changed their name for even more inane reasons. It took some serious and frightening stupidity to link street violence with the name of a basketball team. Ole Abe Pollin was a good man, but his notion of cause & effect was right out of a Lewis Carroll story.

Not to mention, if Bullets was sooooooo horrible and spawned violence, then why do the Wizards still sell Bullets gear and have the team wear Bullets uniforms on throwback nights?

Sure the team will be fine although they will still have Danny running the show. I have rooted for the REDSKINS since 1971. I have watched them in 5 Super Bowls. I cannot be flippant about ditching years of fun and history because a bunch of goateed SJWs think Indians have red skin.

I have no clue how you can say this is anything but free market. Sponsors are pulling money. They are doing so because of their image with consumers. Other NFL owners are fed up with Dan hurting the image of their product. Nobody is forcing Dan to change the name but he will have to deal with the ramifications if he doesn't.

Were it an issue of the Free Market, then sponsors would let the market decide. If the issue hurt the Skins' bottom line- a highly unlikely scenario- then the sponsors would mobilize. But they are not waiting for that. They are doing what scores of other people and organizations are doing- capitulating to the woke mobs.

Snyder is most certainly being forced to change the name.

They did let the market decide and their investors worth $620 billion told them to part ways with the Redskins if they don't change their name.

Brand image is just as part of free market as $. Right now the brand imagery of the Redskins on the NFL is not positive. You can thank DS and his lack of business acumen for that. The Native American mascot imagery is not favorable for myriad of reasons. Some of that can also be blamed on DS handling of the situation.

Investors who are inexplicably capitulating to the mob. Never a let a good crisis go to waste. That is not the Free Market. That is appeasement. The Redskins are but one example.

The Market is you and I plus the rest of the NFL fandom. And evidence has already indicated that the vast majority of the population could possibly care less.

The Redskins brand is very positive. They are one of the oldest teams in the league and have produced some great players. Their helmet logo was designed by a Native American.

Snyder certainly could have handled it better, no doubt. But he was not even born when the team was named the Redskins.
