So how big of a deal is this potentially? I heard Dan Patrick talking about this...this guy supposedly owns almost every mascot name possible and rake Snyder over the coals to get it???

Not want money??? Wow...I assumed he would be asking for millions! Maybe he's a Redskins fan and will only allow the name usage once Snyder isn't the majority owner!

I'll try and find the tweet but he was saying that the Redwolves name will be the hardest to get due to ARK STATE having lawsuits out already with other teams looking for the name.

Just call them the Wolves and forget about AK State. All these Red-xxxx names are too forced to try to maintain a connection to Redskins. They need to keep the colors and get away from everything and anything name-wise that creates any association with the word Redskins.

He was on the Sports Junkies show this morning talking about his trademark holdings. You might be able to find the discussion on their website.

The case would get tossed out of court so quick. Squatting on trademarks isn't something that really holds up unless you can show you have actual intent on using the name for something legit. It's an act of bad faith. The team has way more $$ than he does to get what they want.

I was reading something that if Snyder wants one of those names he can get it without paying through the nose, but it may take time. He would have to challenge the guy's trademark and then the owner would have to prove he needs the trademark for commercial use. Not 100% sure on it as I am not an attorney. Article said something about the law being written this way for this reason. Did not say how long it could take.
