Re: Food Vices

Pre-made/bought hard-boiled eggs. Whoever makes the pre-made ones you buy at the grocery store, does a phenomenal job, always peeled perfectly. I try to make them myself and the eggs end up w/ more craters than the moon by the time they are peeled. It's a tad more expensive to buy them already made, but saving the hassel is worth it imo.

Re: Food Vices

A pressure cooker is a game changer for hard boiled eggs, the shells come off so easy

Re: Food Vices

I just went on a 3 day, 2 night, hiking trip in the N.C. mountains. Had these for dinner both nights:

Surprisingly, pretty good (considering it's freeze tried and edible for like 40 years lol).

It’s awesome climbing to higher altitude and watching the terrain go full balsam forrest.

Re: Food Vices

Tried out some Dave's Hot chicken last night, man I'm paying for it today. Not sure I dare to eat the leftovers. Next time I'm going with medium.

What doesn't grind my gears, when my local grocery store has cream-soda in stock.

Those are special treats. I love me some cream-soda.

Re: Food Vices

Eggs in general, are probably the most underrated food. I like them basically in all forms.

Fried, scrambled, poached, hard boiled, bring it on

Re: Food Vices

Egg salad is so underrated.

Not the shit at the gas station either, I'm talking about making it at home, tossing in some green olives and some dill, pure heaven on toast

I've never tried making my own egg salad. But I even like the cheap stuff. Eggs are just money.

Re: Food Vices

I wish all calories and macro-nutrients were created equal. Went to the grocery store tonight and was craving macaroni and cheese. A box of M&C is only $0.85. In 2024, that's wild. And one box of M&C is enough calories for a whole day. Unfortunately, the shit is terrible for you, and you would not be doing well if you ate a box every day.

If it wasn't absolutely terrible for you, you could live of M&C for $27.00/month (per person). That's the world I want to live in, where food costs are $27.00/month.
