Was it ever confirmed if their guns were loaded? She's got her finger on the trigger, really bad form unless you are truly ready to shoot someone.

I'm going to say no. I come from a long line of defend your property at all cost. Growing up the gun was always loaded and you shoot first and ask questions later. Neither did that so tells me it was all for show.
