Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
Ron is pissed today, he seems like he was ready to move on from DH for a few weeks

"Look at our next 5 or so games, we can make some noise in this division"
"I'm here to win" "I've had this planned for a while, nobody tells me what to do.. I didn't have to tell Dan, he's on the same page"

Scott Turner "You can look great in OTA's and in shorts but things change when the reps are real"

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
One positive it clearly looks like RR has control of this team, in the past i could see Danny never letting something like this happen.
To be frank I don't think i ever see DH being a starter in this league, nothing about him as impressed me.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
Why is Alex Smith the number 2?
There is no way in hell I want him on the field

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
They asked Ron about that and he said "He knows the system and he's been cleared"

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
He was on the field today so that wouldn't make sense

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
My understanding is that if you have the antibodies, that means that you have had the disease, but no longer do. If that is so, the player with the antibodies does not currently have the virus, and there would be no reason to not allow him to suit up. Am I misunderstanding what having the antibodies means?

Why? His leg is no more liable to break again than anyone elses. It would absolutely horrendous if he suffered another bad injury but he just busted his ass for months and months and months. If he wants to get back out there than im all about it. All that work - gotta be a payoff. |

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
The more I see and hear what Rivera and Turner are saying, the more I believe this is not about the evaluation of Haskins and the team anymore. I think that process is over. They are looking at this division, and think they might be able to win it...but not with Haskins at the helm. They know the rest of the team probably feels that way as well. If they don't make this move, they will most definitely lose the other 52.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter
"We have four of them and one of them fortunately has the antibodies so that kind of helps us a little bit," the coach said. "We try to keep him away from everybody else as much as possible and let them go about their business."
The team's four quarterbacks are Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen, Alex Smith and practice squader Steven Montez. Rivera's comments came via the Washington Football Talk podcast, and asked directly which QB tested positive for the antibodies, the coach wouldn't budge. "I'm not allowed to say. One of our guys does." Ideally none of this will matter for Washington this season and the team will get through the remainder of the season without a positive COVID test. If that changes, however, at least Washington will have a player at QB that's familiar with the offensive system. https://www.nbcsports.com/washington...-19-antibodies I took it as Ron saying its a good thing that one of them has it bc if there is an outbreak, at least you will have 1 QB who might not get it. I do not understand the "try to keep him away" part but I assume its an abundance of caution bc there is still a lot of unknowns with COVID because while he is testing negative ... you just dont know. Just me guessing. By deduction .. it appears to be Steven Montez.
