Not sure about that. The fact Jason Wright detailed the renaming process and explained why it'll take time makes me believe him when he says WFT is about wisely not rushing things and making sure to pick a name that can last over a century.

Now, of course there's a chance it stays WFT, but that's far from a lock IMO.

Agreed and there's also the publicity and financial benefits of changing it. Merchandising etc. I wouldn't be surprised that this year has seen a dip, if only comparative, in merchandise sales. And relaunching the team name on the back of the current surge on the field can't be underestimated.
