Virginia and Maryland should have a bidding war to decide what state Washington D.C. becomes a part of. It is too small to be it's own state.

If we're just creating new states, all conservative states should split into as many small states as possible. Northern Northern California should succeed from Cali too, same with parts of Oregon, Washington, etc. Then liberal states do the same.

It will be like Oprah, you get a state, you get a state, and you gets a state, everyone gets a state!!!

I hear ya ... tough call. if we are just going by population ... DC has a 684k population, thats more than Wyoming with 578k and Vermont with 626k.

DC residents having to pay federal taxes but having no representation in the House or Senate just seems to go against our whole Boston tea party "no taxation without representation" mantra.
